The Thinking Blogger Awards

Since I was designated a “Thinking Blogger”, I need to nominate 5 others for this award as well.

The only problem I have is narrowing down the list to only 5. I could name 50 more easily!

Well, these 5 are off the top of my head, so to speak, in no particular order:

Jasdye at My Left Cheek – Questionable taste in music but definitely thought provoking when he writes about faith and theology. His recent observations on Holy Week and Easter are very good.

Anne at Queen Anne’s Revenge – Always something interesting here: Strange news tidbits, lessons from history, anti-war challenges and the occasional story about ‘possums. Gotta love her subtitle: Ravaging the Right Wing (and a few other people) With Broadsides of Intelligence.

Stacie at Supergirl’s Musings – Naturally, I had to pick this one. After all, I came up with the nickname “Supergirl” :) Apart from that, she writes about a variety of topics: Faith, family, music, humor and has been known to go on the occasional rant. She sometimes ridicules her husband too, the poor guy…

Dave, The Cubicle Reverend – Faith, theology, music, literature, philosophy and some funny stuff too. Dave’s another one with a great tag line: One of God’s office supplies.

Dave from Energy Healing. A different Dave who always has lovely poetry and beautiful images. Check it out.

So you guys are tagged. If any of you have already been nominated, let me know – I’ve already thought of 5 more :)  Here are The participation rules:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog).

Some great ones have already been nominated as well: Vicki, Carolanne, David, Paul, and the Questing Parson.

um, being the thinking blogger that i naturally am… wouldn’t this be in effect, a bit of a pyramid scheme? and the lower you go down, the lower the prerequisites? like, soon, somebody may nominate a fan site.

i just think the method is a bit paradoxical. (big word. i should get bonus points for that.)

    Maybe Jason is right.
We could stop the scheme right now but it’s so difficult leaving people out when they make us think too. I mean, who’s to say we’re any more special than they are just because we got picked first? I was reading at someone else’s blog that there are over 56 million blog sites now so perhaps we’re not working our way down, but across. :)

Thanks mate. Cheers, much appreciation for making the cut.

Yeah it is a pyramid thing… and it’s really not an award. It’s just an excuse to give a shout out to your blog friends. I suspect that eventually everyone who has a blog will get this. But who cares…

PS – Shionge, I thought of you just after I published this. Like I said it was off the top of my head.. you are definitely a thinking blogger. If you haven’t been tagged, I’m sure you will be :)

I liked it better when it was an “award” and not an excuse. ;)

So tell me Art – in all honesty. After having so many plugs for your site and having way so many visits, has it changed your attitude towards blogging? Will it change how/your style, your topics etc for blogging?
    Just wondering…..
